Lessons are adapted to each student’s age, experience, musical interests and individual goals. All ages and skill levels are welcome—from complete beginners to experienced musicians looking to develop their technique, creativity or performance skills.

Private, Group and Band Lessons

Students can choose from private one-on-one instruction, group lessons or band classes. Family and band discounts are available, with different rates offered for virtual and in-person lessons.

Lessons start at $30.

Student Performance Opportunities

Students have the opportunity to perform in professionally organized student recitals held twice each year. These recitals provide a supportive environment where students can build confidence, gain performance experience and share their progress with family and friends.

Virtual Music Lessons

Virtual lessons are available across Canada from a professional instructor based in Southern Ontario.

In-Person Music Lessons

In-person lessons are available throughout Toronto, Etobicoke, Mississauga, Oakville and surrounding areas.

About Ethan

Ethan Tilbury is a professional musician and educator based in the Greater Toronto Area. For more than 10 years, he has taught, performed, recorded, arranged and written music in a wide variety of styles.

A graduate of Humber College’s Bachelor of Music program and Mohawk College’s Music program, Ethan brings extensive real-world performance experience into every lesson. He teaches upright and electric bass, guitar, piano, ukulele, music theory, songwriting, arranging and music production.

Ethan’s teaching approach is encouraging, flexible and tailored to each student. Whether a student is picking up an instrument for the first time, preparing for a recital, learning to play with a band or developing advanced musical skills, his goal is to make lessons engaging, practical and rewarding.

Teaching Style:

The main goal is to enjoy the instrument/music making process. The process of developing this will change, form student to student, but the same principles will always apply. For beginner students we will learn about the music we enjoy listening to and learn how we can translate that to our instrument. Starting with learning melodies that we have all heard and grew up hearing and using methods to help us internalize the music. Eventually using the same methods to learn and develop others song we'd like to learn, or songs we and writing/composing.

Intermediate - Advanced students will create a instrument warm-up/work out that can be done at the beginning of every practice session to work on developing our muscle memory and technique. While working though these materials we will also learn how our instrument fits into the bigger picture of the music/band, whether it be through learning how theory applies to the instrument/song or the roll the instrument plays coordinating with other instruments.

With all levels, we will develop a strong repertoire/list of songs that can be performed, either in the comfort of your home, or eventually in front a massive audience! While always having fun!
